Kerteminde offers a daycare-guarantee allowing all children aged 6 months to 6 years the comfort of being looked after. Parents who choose private daycare services for their children receive a monetary return on their payment until the children are 2 years old. 

Primary Schools

Kerteminde extends a guaranteed membership to every child wishing to join an After School Club. There are 8 schools in Kerteminde providing After School Club service. The service is paid for by the parents and clubs are open to all junior citizens. When at the After School Clubs children are. supervised by professional adults.

Kerteminde also has a Music School (Kerteminde Musikskole) and a Youth Centre (Ungdomsskolen) where children aged 10 and up are granted admission.

Secondary Schools
Young people wishing to continue with their secondary education attend secondary schools (gymnasium) in Nyborg or Odense (which is Funen’s only University City).
